I recently had the pleasure of completing the phlebotomy course at Stars Academy under Mary and Nancy, and I can honestly say it was one of the better $1,600 I've ever spent on my own education. This is a month-long intensive course with serious hands-on practice. If you're pursuing work in clinics, labs, or hospitals, you already know that phlebotomy shows up on job descriptions constantly, whether it's listed as required or preferred. This course is how you clear that bar and walk in with real, demonstrable skills -- not just a line on a resume. They will also prepare you for the national exam so you get your national license in phlebotomy. What sets Stars Academy apart is the instruction. Mary is experienced, patient, and genuinely invested in every student. She meets people where they are -- whether you're nervous around needles, hesitant to stick, or just completely new to this. That 1 on 1 relationship and guidance is not something you will get in a large phlebotomy class with like 20-30 students. A few honest tips if you enroll: don't wait until the last 10 days to start studying for the NHA exam. Start from day one. Pay close attention when Mary flags something as important or exam-relevant -- write it down, make flashcards, and really internalize the order of draw. The academic side is manageable for most people. What trips people up is the hands-on component. Sticking is a skill, needles are scary but practice is the only way you will ever get better at anything. Don't hesitate to ask questions, stick your family, friends, and your classmates. The classroom is the place to learn, make mistakes, and hone in your skills. The real world is face-paced and unforgiving. Beyond the skills themselves, being in the course puts you in a room with other students building careers in healthcare, and Mary and Nancy have connections to hospitals, clinics, and physicians that go well beyond what you'd find cold-applying on Indeed. If you're serious about getting into healthcare and want a course that actually prepares you -- this is it.

I had an excellent experience at this phlebotomy school, and I’m truly grateful for the education and support I received. The program is well-organized, hands-on, and prepares students with both the knowledge and confidence needed to succeed in a clinical setting. I especially want to recognize Mary for her amazing work as instructor. Mary and Nancy are incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely care about their students’ success. They take the time to explain procedures clearly, provide encouragement, and make sure everyone feels comfortable and confident with their skills. Their dedication and passion for teaching truly set this program apart. Thanks to their guidance and support, I feel well-prepared and confident moving forward in my phlebotomy career. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking for high-quality training and outstanding instructors.
